Master knifemaker Ikuo Nagata from Akita, Japan, is a 70-year-old artisan celebrated for blending mechanical precision with artistic inlay work. His folders are known for flawless construction, refined finishing, and a unique balance between practicality, creativity, and aesthetic beauty.

Mr. Nagata’s craftsmanship has earned him numerous accolades, including the Best Folder Award at the Seki Knife Show and the Excellent Folder Award at the JKG Knife Contest.

Ikuo Nagata IN-150 Wild Bullet

This is his latest creation unveiled at the 2026 Seki Knife Show in this October. The knife features an unique mult-function button on the bolster, that locks the blade firmly both in open and close position, and also release the blade in 20 digree to assist opening easily.  2-1/4" RWL-34 Half-Mirror polished Drop-point stainless steel blade with thumb stud, The RWL-34 is named from famous R.W. Loveless and is equivalent to Hitachi ATS-34.

A rare and captivating piece from veteran Japanese custom knifemaker Ikuo Nagata, crafted with his signature precision, delicate hand-finishing, and refined artistry. The handle features beautiful Green Jigged Bone scales, seamlessly tapered to hand rounded stainless-steel bolster with liners, red fiber spacers and file-worked spring bar.  Unique Pivot screw with Brass cover.

The highlight is the distinctive Brass and Nickel Silver bullet inlay, which adds a rugged yet elegant contrast—perfectly harmonizing with the organic texture of the Green Jigged Bone.
