A few years ago, Master Hattori became 80 years old. In Japan, a person’s 80th birthday is commemorated with a special celebration called 傘寿 / Sanjyu. To celebrate his special anniversary year, and his proud achievements as a Master craftsman, Hattori decided to produce a Special Limited Edition Collection of knives called the 傘 San series. 

The Hattori 傘 San series knife collection will feature special, very limited production models, which Master Hattori can no longer produce in large quantities due to the rarity or limited availability of handle materials or blade materials. 

This is the 102nd release in the Hattori "SAN" Limited Edition series, which celebrates his 80th year. For the SAN-102, Master Hattori chose the "Little Fisherman's Utility" model.Master Hattori chose to use the new type of DuPont™ Corian® for the knife handle. It has a unique, beautiful appearance that reminded us of a similarly beautiful wintertime experience, hence the name "SNOW IN THE DARK". DuPont™ Corian® is a practical handle material that is very durable and water resistant.  Each handle is carefully contoured by hand to ensure that it fits your hand comfortably and the full tang is taper ground to reduce weight and perfect balance. Comes with a Gift box with "Sanjyu 80 year anniversary message and gold label.

The Hattori SAN-102 Little Fisherman's Utility,   Limited, Scalpel style slim Fish & Utility knife with 3-3/8" VG-10 Stainless steel blade. 3-1/4" DuPont™ Corian® Handle. Tapered full tang fastened with large nickel silver rivet, small pin and lanyard hole tubuler. Comes with brown leather sheath. The knife includes a brown Leather Sheath and a Gift Box with the special "Sanjyu 80 year anniversary gold label.
