Mr. Tomida TR-1 Black Forged Traditional Razor

Availability: Normally ships the same day

Description

We have received many customer requests about offering some Japanese Traditional Razors (Nihon Kamisori). Nowadays, Japanese Traditional Razors have become less commonplace in Japan and the production numbers of these rare items is quite limited.  This time, we have been fortunate to find this unique Traditional Hammer Forged Razor, which was made by the experienced forge smith Mr. Tomida, in Miki City. The reputable Japanese Carbon steel "Blue Steel No.2" is used for the cutting edge, which is forge welded to a piece of soft iron. The very sharp 2" Kurouchi (“Black forged”) finished blade is hollow ground and has a concave back to simplify sharpening. The unique 4.4" twisted-tang handle utilizes a one-piece construction and, along with the lightly textured finish, provides a secure and comfortable grip. To prevent corrosion, we recommend thoroughly drying you razor with a soft cloth after each use and applying a light coat of camellia oil.

Japanese Carbon Steel blade is 4.0mm thick and 50mm long, 172mm overall length, Weight 46g
