Master Hattori became 80 years old a few years ago. In Japan, a person’s 80th birthday is commemorated with a special celebration called 傘寿 / Sanjyu. To celebrate his special anniversary year, and also his proud achievements as a Master craftsman, Hattori decided they would produce a Special Limited Edition Collection of knives called the 傘 San Series. 

The Hattori 傘 San Series knife collection will feature special, very limited production models, which Master Hattori can no longer produce in large quantities due to the rarity or limited availability of handle materials or blade materials.

For the 114th version of the Hattori "SAN" Limited edition" 80th anniversary celebration knives, Master Hattori decided to make very distinctive Cowry X Damascus Single Bevel Edge Tanto.

This Cowry X Damascus Knife is smaller version of the "Hattori GECKO-1 KATANA"

The design concepts for this special knife model is  'Simplicity', 'Practicality' and 'Japanese Spirit' and again the Cowry X Damascus blade version of this Tanto is indeed one of a kinds, special collection from Hattori.

Master Hattori carefully selected the high quality, perfectly shaped pieces of Sambar Stag Antler material for the handle. The combination of Sambar Stag Handle, Leather Washer and Black Fiber Spacers and Nickel silver Hilt, give the knife a wild but stylish overall appearance. The KD30-1 Cowry X Damascus blade is one of our favorites, the large blade features an elongated Clip Point, with Swedge, and Hattori’s beautiful and unique Vortex pattern layered Damascus.

SAN-114 Cowry-X Damascus TANTO (Single Bevel Edge) 

The Single Bevel Edge Tanto / Katana blade is hollow ground, made of Cowry X Damascus Steel. The Linen Micarta handle with solid Stainless Steel Hilt is Hand Contoured to maximize comfort. Each knife comes with a black Leather sheath, a fancy gift box, a decorative Japanese Nishijin Textile Pouch. Only 1Pc Available Now.
