In 2008, Some of the Seki knife authorities have formed "Challengers Knife Club" to train and inherit Seki traditional knifemaking technique and knowledge to young knife carftsmen in Seki. There are now 15 club members gathering once a month. They are working at Seki knife factories, and challenging to make their own custom knives after work and weekends.

JKD is trying to support and encourage them by introducing their knives for sale. Here are some of the latest knives received.

Takumi Ichikawa Custom Kitchen Knife TI-10 Gyuto 200mm (8 Inch)

  Takumi Ichikawa is young and active knife lover, who moved to Seki to learn knifemaking, and is now working at Master Ichiro Hattori (Hattori Hamono) for 5 years. He likes tactical knives and so far, he has made several tactical knives for his own use.

Now, he came up with two Santoku style Hocho (Kitchen knife) with two different  handles.  7-inch solid VG-10 stainless steel Japanese Santo style versatile Cooking blade with his "T's Blood" logo,

Your choice of the handle:  TI-20A  4-3/4" Hand contoured Japanese Shamugaki (Ziricote) wood handle with solid 304 stainless steel bolster and tubular rivets filled with purple resin, or TI-20B  Japanese Maple wood handle with solid 304 stainless bolster and tubular rivets filled with green resin.  Each in gift box.
