Description

Mr. Ikuo Nagata is 68 years old skilled Custom Knifemaker in Akita prefecture. He mostly makes Folders with precision and detailed work of art inlaying shells on integral or interframe one-piece sold stainless steel handle, and file work on back spring bar and back of the blade.

We have been noting this maker for some years at our Seki knife show, and finally got some folders for sale at JKD. He won the Best Folder award at last year's Seki knife show, and also won "Excellent Folder award" at JKG (Japan Knife Guild) knife contest in 2021.

IN-95 ATS-34 Back-Lock Folder,  Beautiful Red Crowned Crane (丹頂鶴) Motif Raden (螺鈿) Art inlay works of Abalon, Gold & White MOP and luminous shells on interframe hand rounded solid stainless steel handle (different Red Crowned Crane designs on both sides),  3-1/4" Satin-brushed Mirror polished ATS-34 Spear point blade with long false edge, Nail-nick and step grinding near tang, 4-1/2" Mirror polished Solid Stainless steel interframe handle, File worked stainless steel back spring bar with matching Abalone inlaid stainless steel lock release button, The handle interior is also half-mirror polished and inlaid with Luminous shells (as shown on the photo), Comes with Black velvet cloth pouch and hand-made Ho-wood box.
