Master Hattori became 80 years old. In Japan, a person’s 80th birthday is commemorated with a special celebration called 傘寿 / Sanjyu. To celebrate his special anniversary year, and also his proud achievements as a Master craftsman, Hattori has decided to produce a Special Limited Edition Collection of knives called the 傘 San Series. 

The Hattori 傘 San Series knife collection will feature special, very limited production models, which Master Hattori can no longer produce in large quantites due to the rarity or limited availability of handle materials or blade materials.

This is the 79th version of Hattori "SAN" Limited edition" celebrating his 80th year old anniversary. He has selected the EDC Clip Point Little Hunter with rare & exotic handles and his famous Cowry-X Damascus blade, and produced only very limited quantity of each handle with 傘SAN etching on the blade and Presentation box. 

Hattori SAN-79C Limited Cowry-X Damascus EDC Clip-Point Little Hunter  3" Clip-Point Cowry-X Damascus Hamaguri-ba blade, 3-7/8" Hand rounded Cocobolo Wood Handle with Nickel silver Hilt (thin black spacer on middle of hilt), Full tang with Nickel silver rivets and tubelar lanyard hole on end, Comes with Double stitched Brown leather sheath, and Presentation Gift box with "Sanjyu 80 year anniversary message and gold label.

Cocobolo wood has a rich red-brown color and a beautiful, unique natural woodgrain pattern. Hattori's fine handwork can be seen in the perfectly shaped, hand contoured, custom handles. Cocobolo Wood is becoming more rare and distinctive due to the recent introduction of restrictive import laws (Following a CITES convention that limits the international trade of endangered Rosewood species).
