A few years ago, Master Hattori became 80 years old. In Japan, a person’s 80th birthday is commemorated with a special celebration called 傘寿 / Sanjyu. To celebrate his special anniversary year, and his proud achievements as a Master craftsman, Hattori decided to produce a Special Limited Edition Collection of knives called the 傘 San series. 

The Hattori 傘 San series knife collection will feature special, very limited production models, which Master Hattori can no longer produce in large quantities due to the rarity or limited availability of handle materials or blade materials. 

This is the 130th version of Hattori "SAN" Limited edition" celebrating his 80th year old anniversary. He has selected the KD-3717 Cowry X Damascus Classic Tanto model. Master Hattori carefully selected the best part of African Ebonywood for the handle and finished the African Ebonywood Handle with vivid Green Malachite Composite Stone Ring and solid Brass Hilt and Butt cap.  

Hattori SAN-130 Limited Cowry-X Damascus Tanto has unique reverse blade tip Tanto made of Hattori's exclusive Cowry-X Damascus, Cowry-X powdered tool steel core forge layered Nickel and Stainless Damascus steel (30 layeres on each side), 4.3" Tanto style blade with sharp Kiridashi tip and swedge on back, 4" Hand rounded African Ebonywood handle with Classic Green Malachite Composite Stone Ring, solid Brass Hilt and Butt cap, Hidden tang, Comes with Brown leather sheath, and Gift box.
