A few years ago, Master Hattori became 80 years old. In Japan, a person’s 80th birthday is commemorated with a special celebration called 傘寿 / Sanjyu. To celebrate his special anniversary year, and his proud achievements as a Master craftsman, Hattori decided to produce a Special Limited Edition Collection of knives called the 傘 San series. 

The Hattori 傘 San series knife collection will feature special, very limited production models, which Master Hattori can no longer produce in large quantities due to the rarity or limited availability of handle materials or blade materials.  This Limited Edition Knife will be marked with a Serial No.

This is the 157th version of Hattori "SAN" Limited edition" celebrating his 80th year old anniversary. He has selected Cowry X Damascus Special Classic Utility Hunter (KD30-3718), and used the selected part of Desert Ironwood for the custom handle with Classic&Retro taste Black & Warm Red Fiber Spacers.

Hattori SAN-157 Limited Cowry-X Damascus Special Utility Hunter is made of Hattori's exclusive Cowry-X Damascus, Cowry-X powdered tool steel core forge layered Nickel and Stainless Damascus steel, 4" Utility blade, 4" Hand rounded Desert Ironwood handle with solid Brass Hilt and Buttcap,  Hidden tang, Comes with Brown leather sheath, and Gift box.

 Each One comes with 傘SAN etching on the blade and Presentation box. Just 3 knives have been made, each with its own serial number, No. 1 to No. 3.
