Clip Point Blade Knives

The clip point blade is a very popular, versatile pattern that has been used for both folding knives and fixed blade knives — Two such examples are the classic Buck 110 folding knife and the Bowie knife.

The 'clipped' point typically starts near the midpoint of the blade and can be curved or straight. The clip often features a swedge, but they are rarely sharpened.

Clip point blades have sharp, controllable tips that are great for piercing, but they are generally more fragile than the tips of drop point, tantō, sheepsfoot blades. Clip point blades usually have plenty of belly, so they are capable of most slicing tasks.
