Grand Master Hattori became 80 years old. In Japan, a person’s 80th birthday is commemorated with a special celebration called 傘寿 / Sanjyu. To celebrate his special anniversary year, and also his proud achievements as a Master craftsman, Hattori has decided to produce a Special Limited Edition Collection of knives called the 傘 San Series.
The Hattori 傘 San Series knife collection will feature special, very limited production models, which Master Hattori can no longer produce in large quantities due to the rarity or limited availability of handle materials or blade materials.
Master Ichiro Hattori has selected the TV series S.O.G. Bowie knife to be the 125th knife in the Hattori "SAN" Limited Edition knife collection, which celebrates the 80-year anniversary of his birth. The year 2025 also marks the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, and this knife model holds significant historical relevance, as the original S.O.G. knife was designed and produced for the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Master Hattori has carefully chosen the materials for the handle, which features a special Vietnam Flag Color design (red and yellow) using premium-quality custom leather washers.
Only 1Pc of this special limited SAN S.O.G Bowie knife is just finished and available. The blade has a 傘 SAN logo etched and inscribed on the Presentation box.
The Hattori SAN-125 Limited Bowie Knife is modelled after a famous S.O.G. knife from the Vietnam war era and has a 6.2" hollow ground, semi-mirror polished AUS-8 Molybdenum Vanadium stainless steel Bowie-style blade, with a large false edge on the back of the clip point. The Practical 4.7" Custom Combination Handle is made with selected materials (Leather Washers / Brass / Red Fibers) and features a solid Brass Double Guard / Crossguard and Butt Cap (With Lanyard hole). VIETNAM Flag Color Special Design Model. The knife comes with a Brown leather sheath (With a sharpening stone inside the pocket) and the Gift box has a special Sanjyu ("80-year anniversary") gold label and message.
